To become a partner with AWS, you must go through the Amazon Web Services Partner Network (APN). The APN is an invitation-only program that helps companies build solutions for their clients. It also allows those companies to take advantage of tools that make working with AWS easier.
You Must Go Through the APN
You’ll need to follow a few steps to become an AWS partner. First, apply for the APN, and this will include filling out an application and uploading your business credentials, like your website address and phone number, among other things. You’ll also be asked for a logo; this helps people recognise that you’re part of the program. Second, ensure all this information is accurate on the APN site by constantly checking your profile page. If any changes or updates need to be made, they should be done as soon as possible because it can take up to 24 hours before they appear on their end! Finally, ensure that any new resources, such as websites or contacts, are put into their database within seven days after creating them yourself, so everyone else gets notified immediately too!
You Must Have Technical Competency
To become a partner and be eligible to sell the services using AWS, you must have technical competency in the cloud, the AWS technology stack and the services you want to offer. The technical competency also needs to be in-depth enough that you can effectively train your customers on how to use those services and support them if they run into problems using them.
You don’t need any special certification to be a partner; however, it does help if you have one. For example, there is a special certification called “AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate Level” (Amazon is always looking for ways to make money!).
You Must Have a Financial Commitment to AWS.
For example, your company may want to build a reputation for excellence in cloud computing. Or, perhaps you’re looking for ways to increase revenue by selling cloud-based products and services—or both! Either way, becoming a partner has its benefits: You’ll get access to exclusive resources and training over time, as well as technical support from AWS engineers and other partners who can help with any issues during your collaboration.
Your Company Must Be Free From Conflicts of Interest
AWS works hard to keep the ecosystem healthy and competitive, so your company must be free from conflicts of interest. Your partner account can’t compete with an existing partner, a potential partner, an existing customer or a potential customer.
You Also Need to Meet Some Criteria
First, you must have a financial commitment to AWS. This is not just a one-time payment but a long-term investment in the future of your business. Second, you need technical competency in building and managing large-scale web applications with Amazon Web Services (AWS). This includes having to experience architecting solutions based on services like Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3), Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS), etc., as well as leveraging these services for security, backup/restore, disaster recovery and governance needs for clients across industries including media & entertainment; retail; transportation & logistics; healthcare; education; financial services etc.
